David Ferrard is a young Scottish American singer-songwriter whose music blends folk and Americana influences, reminding many of the songsmiths of the 1960s folk revival. David was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, to an American mother and Scottish father who met whilst on the Peace Corps in 1968. David's inherited commitment to peace and social justice is reflected in his songwriting, for which he has won several awards (Celtic Connections 2006, Burnsong 2007). The Sunday Herald praises David's 'uncanny ability to fuse meaningful words with gorgeous melodies.'
Over the last couple years David has made a name for himself on the UK acoustic scene, where he plays clubs, festivals, and theatres.
David's debut album, Broken Sky, has been receiving international critical acclaim since its spring 2008 release, named Album Of The Week by The Sunday Herald, BBC Radio Scotland's Iain Anderson Show, and Celtic Music Radio.
David is now taking bookings for 2008/09 which is already taking him around Britain, mainland Europe, the USA and Canada.
