Some of David's favourite places to hang out (virtually that is! - in alphabetical order):
Centre For Political Song - www.caledonian.ac.uk/politicalsong/index.html - the world's first ever centre where political songs are archived and events are organised specifically about topical music. One of Songs For Change's partners in crime!
Protest in Harmony - www.protestinharmony.org.uk - an Edinburgh-based song group which meets one Saturday each month to learn songs of freedom and struggle from around the world. All are welcome. No need to read music, no singing experience necessary — just come along with your enthusiasm and your voice!
Songs For Change - www.songsforchange.com - David's topical songwriting project. Lots of inspiring songs have been sent to this site which David maintains.
Word Power - www.word-power.co.uk - David's favourite (and independent!) bookstore in Edinburgh. There's no better place to browse for hours. Packed full of alternative titles on everything from politics to literature. It's better stocked than most of the big chains and actually puts its profits back into the community by organising an annual Independent Radical Book Fair in the city centre. This year's fair will be held in October and will be the largest to date, marking its 10th anniversary.
