Album progress, blogs and interviews

I've just spent a week in Glasgow at Ca Va Sounds studio working on my album.  The songs are sounding great and I think everyone who knows my material will be thrilled by how the material is developing.  For the first few days Sandy Butler and I worked on guitar parts.  Then Alan Thomson (John Martyn, Pentangle) came in for a couple days to add bass and slide guitar.  Brian Young (John Martyn, Runrig, Love & Money) has been producing the album and Geoff Allan (Arab Strap, the Supernaturals, Mogwai) and Pam have been engineering it.  It's been wonderful to be surrounded by such professionals with their expertise and excellent ears!  I am on a real high from the entire experience.
I will return to Glasgow on Monday to start recording my vocals and then we'll add harmonies, percussion etc.  Celtic Connections begins on Wednesday.  I will be supporting Richie Havens on Thursday with Sandy and Alan.  This will be a very special gig indeed.  I have also been asked by Celtic Connections to do a daily blog on their website covering my experience of the festival, so look out for my updates at: www.celticconnections.com.  There is an interview with me on the Evening Times website (printed in last Thursday's paper) about winning the Danny Kyle award last year: www.eveningtimes.co.uk/celticconnections/openstage/ferrard .
