Democrazy Showcase Gig and Crazy Elections

Thanks to everyone who voted for me in the Democrazy 2007 gig.  I came a close 4th, so although I didn't win any prizes, I was very pleased with the result.  I appreciate everyone's support!!!  You can watch my performance at the Democrazy 2007 Showcase Gig on www.nexuslive.com.  Go to the lefthand column of the 'Home Page' where there is a 'Watch Video' heading.  You'll find a link to my performance under that.  I sing four songs, Here We Stand, The Hour Of Plenty, Hills of Virginia and Visions Of Our Youth.  Enjoy!
The day after the showcase gig was of course the Scottish Parliament elections.  Although more people voted than last year, the results were marred by the fact that over 100,000 ballot papers were spoilt.  This is simply unacceptable.  You can sign a petition calling for an independent international inquiry into the fiasco: www.ipetitions.com/petition/ScottishVoteScandal2007 .  Although it's very sad to see that the influence of the smaller parties (namely the Greens and Socialists) has been diminished, I am pleased that the SNP (an anti-Iraq war and anti-Trident party) has the majority of seats.  Fingers crossed for some real change in Scottish politics!  And farewell to Tony Blair - about time too!  He'll be remembered by so many of us as a war criminal.  The suffering and chaos he has brought to the Middle East will his most enduring legacy in my opinion.  See a snapshot of me with him in my 'Hall Of Fame' photo gallery.
