I'm back home now after a crazy month at Celtic Connections, the world's largest winter folk festival. I had an amazing time which you can read all about on the festival's official website. I was invited to do a frequent blog documenting my experiences, which you can access at: www.celticconnections.com/celtic/blog . As well as two great support gigs for Richie Havens and Martyn Joseph I got to play a few times at the Festival Club and do a live session on the festival's radio station: Celtic Music Radio ( www.celticmusicradio.org.uk ).
I am nearly finished recording my album. We have worked on the songs for a couple weeks, layering the tracks with guitars, bass, slide, fiddle, mandolin, piano and vocals. Some special guests including Karine Polwart, Josh Goforth, Alan Thomson, James Ross, Sandy Butler, and Karen Dietz feature on the album so far. I was just recording more vocals today and the songs are starting to sound amazing. I am really looking forward to releasing the album later this year.
