Singing For Peace

The last couple days have been very musical.  On Friday night I sang a few songs at a cultural evening to celebrate the inception of Scotland4Peace, a movement to ensure Scotland is identified with peace not war, and to anticipate the Long Walk for Peace in September, from the nuclear submarine base at Faslane to the Scottish Parliament.  www.scotland4peace.org  The following morning I sang at St John's Festival of Spirituality and Peace at which CND activist Bruce Kent and Norman Kember, a Christian peacemaker recently held hostage in Iraq, were both speaking.  Do check out this festival - www.stjohns-edinburgh.org.uk - the programme is amazing and all events are free (though donations are very welcome!).  After this I went on a very successful anti-war march which attracted about 10,000 people onto the streets of Edinburgh demanding an end to US, UK and Israeli occupation in the Middle East.
Tomorrow The David Ferrard Trio Fringe Show opens at the Royal Oak (details on my gig page) and on Tuesday I begin my topical songwriting workshops and gigs at the Theatre Workshop, so it's all go.  This week I have 18 Fringe performances!!!  And I'm singing at an anti-war meeting with Tony Benn on Tuesday night, so it's all go.
