Just back from the first leg of the Long Walk for Peace...We had a big rally in George Square, Glasgow this afternoon....I'm playing at Knockengorroch festival tomorrow and then gonna return to the walk on Monday...it's going really well...great folk taking part....we've got a singing contingent going and are building up a repertoire as we walk from west to east....Bruce Kent, former head of CND, speaks at every town along the way and I sing songs......Woody Guthrie's Peace Call has become the theme tune of the walk...I'm trying to teach it to the whole of Scotland...the response has been amazing...there's no question that popular opinion in this country is against nuclear weapons...we see it every day on the walk! Now we just have to persuade the government to listen to the people!
