I opened last night's meeting for Scotland's latest socialist party Solidarity with a few songs. It's great that in Scotland we now have a few parties (Solidarity, SSP, Greens) offering alternatives to the mainstream parties. If we're to tackle the most pressing issues of the day: climate change, the arms trade, global injustice, poverty, then we need parties and more importantly people (!) with radical ideas who are prepared to change the system.
