Songs For Change!!!

What a wonderful week it's been.  I've been continuing work on my album, recording Tommy Sands and Roy Bailey for my version of Peace Call, to be released next month as a fundraiser for Scotland's For Peace.  I've had the delight of hosting Roy here in Edinburgh for the Songs For Change gig last night at which he performed a wonderful set and at which Tommy took time out from his touring schedule to make a surprise guest appearance.  The eleven entrants to the Songs For Change competition who performed last night did an amazing job.  The quality of their writing and performance had the audience in raptures.  I've rarely experienced such an enthusiastic audience and it's a real honour that so many people came out to an event which got little coverage in the media.  I think that such events raise the spirits of the anti-war movement as well as providing a great night out to those interested in quality political song.  I am so pleased to have been able to organize this event and feel incredibly grateful to all the folk who have put their time and love into the project without any financial reward.  Singers came from Sheffield, Manchester and Inverness at their own expense to perform just the one song each last night.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
